Two Gippsland GA8 Airvans were captured at Wellington today by ZKARJ.
ZK-ORC is c/n GA8-02-017 and was initially registered in Australia as VH-AAP6 before becoming ZK-SAF2 in November 2002 with Air Safaris & Services Ltd at Lake Tekapo.
It was sold to Stark Airlines Ltd of Hamilton in November 2016 who re registered as ZK-FSS2 on 05-12-2016 and then sold to Glenorchy Air Services & Tourist Co Ltd in early September 2017 and was re registered as ZK-ORC on 19-10-2017.
It joined the Kaikoura Aero Club (Inc) who trade under the Air Kaikoura name from late May 2020
VH-PGU3 is c/n GA8-TC-320 and it began life as VH-BQY2 in June of 2009 with MAF at Cairns and became P2-MFL2 in October 2009 with MAF at Mt Hagen in PNG.Back in Australia it became VH-PGU3 on 31-08-2021 with Eyal Aharoni of Wellington, NZ.
It has been noted flying around NZin its Australian registration since early November 2021.
